Snow and Ice Sculptures in February 2020
King Isbit’s Winter Sn’Ice Playground of Detroit Lakes
The Detroit Lakes City Beach and City Park fills up with Snow and Ice fun every year. Several Ice and snow sculptures are constructed. The King Isbit’s Ice palace is the centre of attraction at this playground. To build this palace, In the first place, huge ice blocks are hand-harvested from the Detroit Lake. Then by the next month, a crew of volunteers construct a royal Ice castle fit for “King Isbit” at the Winter Sn’ice Playground, which is a crucial part of the Polar Fest. The public is encouraged to visit the finished sculpture during Polar Fest – February 6-17, 2020. A kick-off Ice Palace lighting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 6th, which is also the beginning of the Polar Fest.
